Josh Corner will be riding the Pawson Commercial backed MWR Motorsports Ducati Panigale R for the final two rounds of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 championship. The 18 year old from South Shields will be deputising for the sidelined James Egan who is still very much a part of the team and MWR’s plans moving forward into 2016. It will be the second time Josh has stood in for one of the MWR riders, after astounding series regulars by finishing in the top ten first time out on a 1000 at Brands Hatch back in April. This time he will be on Ducati machinery and is looking to better his previous result in the class.
I’m extremely happy and exited to be riding the Pawson Commercial backed Panigale R. After whats seemed like a long time since last being out and waiting for the right package to come along, I can’t wait to get back in the saddle for the last two rounds at tracks I know both the Ducati and myself will go well at.
This is a great opportunity for me to ride such a fantastic machine as the Ducati Panigale R within a massively experienced team with everything in place to do the job right. Silverstone will be a big challenge first time riding the bike, however I am looking forward to it and feeling very positive.
I just want to say a big thank you to Mark Webster, Pawson Commercials, Moto Rapido and Ducati UK for making this possible.
It’s been a shame that a rider of Josh’s calibre has been sat out for most of the year, waiting for the right opportunity to come along, so I’m delighted to be able to give Josh the chance to ride our Ducati Panigale R in the last two rounds of the championship. He’s already proved he can run up at the sharp end in this class with little track time, so I am confident he will be up to speed very quickly on the Ducati and although there is no pressure on him I am sure he will be looking to finish the season on a high with a couple of strong results for the team.
